Why You Should Get Professional Head Shots

Real talk: there is something so empowering about having a good photo of yourself. Whether you're updating your Facebook or LinkedIn profile, freshening your website, or even just emailing a snap to your mom so she can update the family picture frames, doesn't it feel great to look good in a picture!?

After Simon was born (and let's be honest, my face had returned to normal proportions) I asked my good friend Jessica of Jessica Bonestroo Photography (she's who I call The Baby Whisperer!) to do my headshots, so we walked around downtown Sioux Falls for a while snapping some solo photos. It's been so nice to have images of myself that I can use for lots of different purposes, and feel really good about.

Lately, I've had the pleasure of working with friends and coworkers on their own headshots, and it's completely reinforced how I feel about having a good photo of yourself. Honestly, it's something every body deserves to have!

I know it may seem silly to get headshots--photos of just you, no one else, for basically no reason. But I think they're so important! There's something so nice about having a photo of yourself that you love. It just makes you feel good!

The connection that I'm able to make with people is why I absolutely love my job. I don't know if there is anything better than showing someone the back of my camera, or delivering a gallery of images, and hearing, Oh my gosh, I look so good! Because YEAH GIRL, you do!

If you're needing a photo of yourself that just makes you feel good--whether it's to celebrate a recent accomplishment, life stage, or heck, even an awesome haircut--just do it! You won't regret it and it'll do wonders for your confidence. I promise!
