Hello and welcome to January! I think January kind of gets a rep for being a boring, no good month, but I have to say I'm digging it so far. We really have no plans and I'm loving the extra time at home. I feel like we're finally able to enjoy our new house.
And can we talk about how much fun it is to live in Sioux Falls now? On Friday night we went to a Stampede game, and then Saturday we saw some family and friends at a party. It seems like there is always something going on and I love it!
I wanted to pop in and go through my December Goals / January goals before the month gets away from me, which is liiiiikely to happen, let's be honest. So here we go.
Have super fun photog night this Saturday with a few local photographer friends – can’t wait! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. This was a much needed girls' night (complete with a friends' baby who I did not put down all night, in case you wondered. We're buds now), AND super helpful. We all went over business-y things to catapult us into the new year ready to have a killer 2015. We also drank wine. So good.
Not to be super vague but…finish 2015 business plan with lots of SUPER FUN THINGS that I can’t wait to share with everyone! >> This is SUPER close to being ready to launch. Stay tuned!
Finish client End of Year Thank You. Done.
Finish first draft of 2 wedding invitation clients (YAY MARRIAGE!) >> I think I meant Save The Dates. One completely done, one should be done very very soon to meet my deadline.
Tidy up the Raves page on the website because it’s kind of a hot mess right now. >> Nope.
Start/finish Christmas shopping. Stop judging me. Done! Go to the gym once/week to ease back into what USED to be a regular occurence. Stop judging me. HAHAHAHAHA. But seriously, I'm basically just waiting for our old membership to expire so we can get a new membership at these gyms that have Zumba and Body Pump and Yoga and fun stuff. I'm pumped to take classes again! Prepare of January Whole30. AGH. The fact that I’m (probably?) doing this is…I don’t even know. I know the more recipe prep I can do ahead of time, the better the chances are I’ll succeed. Lord help us all, and the man who has to live with me when I haven’t had sugar for 28 days. More to come on this but the prep work has been done and I'm currently on Day 8. Ugh. Take our Christmas card photos – yay!! We’re a little late to the party and will probably have to do a New Year’s card instead of Christmas, but my FABULOUS photographer friend is home from Indiana so I snatched her up and we’re making it work. I am so excited!! Get ready to be over-shared with. DONE! And they're so. stinking. cute. Thanks to my friend Brianna at Brianna Classen Photography! Purchase a lens. Maybe. Yes! The 50mm 1.4 is now mine. I really wanted to splurge on the 50 mm 1.8 Sigma ART but this one will be totally great for now, and it's what I'm used to. Cut my mullet. I’m in the process of growing my hair back out to what it used to be (like…not that long, but longER), but the back is growing much quicker than the front so I get a monthly mullet trim. It’s great fun. In case you care, my hair is thisclose to being long enough to be considered a bob and not just "short." YAY! I'm dying for something like this and this. Too bad I'll never look like Emma Stone or LC, but you get what I'm saying.
So perhaps not my most successful Goals list, but I'm happy with it. I made a lot of traction with different projects that I didn't mention specifically, so I feel like I'm in a really good place for January! So...

I think that's it for January! I'm basically just hoping to finish up some things from December and start the new year with a clean slate by the time January is at a close. What about you? Any big items on the horizon for January??
